Brisbane Connect & Learn
The Brisbane Connect & Learn event will be held live in-person at Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane on Friday 28 August 2026 from 1:30–5 PM.
This 3.5-hour event will explore the latest in hearing implants, including cochlear implants and bone conduction systems.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of current developments, considerations and approaches to hearing implants, that supports clinical decision-making, encourages peer discussion, and offers practical insights for everyday practice.
Each event includes a relaxed afternoon tea, offering time to connect with fellow attendees and chat with exhibitors.

Meet Namita
Namita Bhatnagar is the Clinical & Business Specialist for Queensland at Advanced Bionics Australia, based in Brisbane, have over five years of experience in the hearing healthcare industry, including roles with Phonak India and Advanced Bionics.
A Gold Medalist with a Master's degree (Honours) in Audiology, Namita specializes in cochlear implants and is passionate about advancing hearing outcomes through innovative technology, clinician education, and collaborative patient care. She works closely with audiologists and surgeons to support best clinical practices and optimize outcomes for individuals with hearing loss.

Erica Caiuby is the Clinical Services Manager for MED-EL Australia and New Zealand.
A fascination in how hearing works lead Erica to train as an audiologist in Brazil. She has worked in Australia for almost 20 years with independent clinics prior to joining MED-EL in 2013, across all areas of hearing loss, including adult and paediatric, diagnostics, hearings aids and rehabilitation. She is most passionate about hearing implants, noting the highlights of her career being the provision of surgical support, as well as the perpetual buzz of seeing the smile light up a recipient’s face when their implant is switched on.

Erica Caiuby is the Clinical Services Manager for MED-EL Australia and New Zealand.

She has worked in Australia for almost 20 years with independent clinics prior to joining MED-EL in 2013, across all areas of hearing loss, including adult and paediatric, diagnostics, hearings aids and rehabilitation. Dr Chang is an Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Otology and Hearing Implant Surgeon based in Brisbane. He trained in Queensland, and completed a prestigious international fellowship in Cochlear Implant Surgery and the treatment of complex ear diseases (such as Cholesteatoma and Otosclerosis) as part of his surgical training. His fellowship was completed at the Otology and Skull Base unit at the Cambridge University Hospital, UK (internationally recognised as a centre of excellence for the treatment of hearing loss and cochlear implantation).

Tegan is the past President of Independent Audiologists Australia, and is a current executive committee member. She runs a large private practice on the Sunshine Coast, specialising in Cochlear Implants, amongst other full scope of practice Audiology services.
Tegan brings a practical, clinician-focused perspective to cochlear implant access.

Vidya is an experienced audiologist with over 25 years’ experience across leading hearing healthcare organizations in rehabilitation, training and mentoring. After completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Audiology and Speech Rehabilitation she went on to complete her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2011.
She is passionate about adult hearing rehabilitation, clinical education, mentoring, and has played a key role in launching innovative hearing technologies. She has been with Cochlear ANZ for over 7 years and in her current role supports candidates, recipients, clinics, clinicians and surgeons.
